Following the success of “American Nightmare,” Jon was hired by producer Michael Raso to write and direct “Suburban Nightmare.” A satire on the disintegration of marriage, “Suburban Nightmare” spends the night with The Rosenblads as their relationship crumbles around them with violent and tragic consequences. “Suburban Nightmare” was released in June of 2004 to rave reviews including numerous “top ten” lists.
At the same time, ThinkFilm Company hired Jon to direct “Hallow’s End” from a screenplay by Christopher J. Burdick. A throwback to the 80’s horror films, “Hallow’s End” watches eight college friends become trapped in a Halloween house as evil forces begin turning them into their costumes. ThinkFilm released “Hallow’s End” domestically with Horizon Motion Pictures doing international sales.
Roll Dallas Roll Films then hired Jon to direct “Mad Bad” from a script by Jason Kabolati. A dramatic and stylized film, the story chronicles an ex-con struggling to rebuild his life when he falls back into crime. Before long, he steals the wrong car and a drug dealer begins tracking him down. Maverick Films released “Mad Bad” in 2008.
Jon also completed “Living & Dying” for New Films International. An intense crime caper about two killers that turn the tables on a trio of robbers during a hostage stand-off, “Living & Dying” stars Edward Furlong, Michael Madsen, Arnold Vosloo, Bail Ling, Jordana Spiro and numerous Eastern European stars. “Living & Dying” was released by HBO in 2007 along with an international theatrical release through Warner Bros. Independent.
Jon most recently completed “Fall Down Dead” starring Dominique Swain, Udo Kier and David Carradine. A suspense thriller combining elements of “Panic Room” and “Saw,” it was released theatrically in 2008 to the international market.
Along with a constant flow of feature film work, Jon was an Academy Award finalist with his short film “Angela’s Body,” has directed episodes of the Danica McKellar show “Inspector Mom” for The Lifetime Channel, produced the web series “Exposed” for Warner Bros. and McG’s company Wonderland, sold his screenplay “The Assassination Game” to Bigfoot Entertainment and is currently producing the indie feature, “Spilt Milk.”
