As a teenager, Nathan moved west to Toronto to attend film school at Ryerson University. From there he began making his own work and honing his craft on low budget shorts and music videos. But Newfoundland summoned him back to work on a documentary that would change the direction of his storytelling. Spending time with a ritual killer in a prison yard, Nathan found a passion for troubled individuals. Long Pigs, his first feature film was born. The film is set for theatrical release in mid-2010.
