Rex Sikes' Movie Beat chats with director of Art Director Larry Lundy

Larry Lundy has been a production designer for 26 years. He was born in Queens, New York and graduated from the State University College at Buffalo with a BFA in painting and sculpture. As an Art Director/Production Designer and Set Decorator his credits include: Angel Street movie and TV Series, E.R., Baby on Board, High Fidelity, Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, Drunkboat and others. Lundy was a founding member of Hallwalls Media Center in Buffalo in 1975, where he curated DaDaDay and the Buffalo Film Festival. He developed Writeratio , to give writers an opportunity to read from their works. His art has been shown at The New Museum (NYC), A Space (Toronto),Art Institute of Chicago, Albright-Knox Art Gallery (Buffalo)among other venues. He was a member of Randolph Street Gallery and curated the Loop Show (1981) at the historic Fischer Building in Chicago. His writing has appeared in The New Art Examiner, the Chicago Reader, the Journal of the Art Institute of Chicago. Lundy's work has been seen in productions such as High Fidelity, ER, The Babe, Mind of the Married Man, Flatliners, VI Warshawski, Chicago Hope among many others. He has won the Midwest Film Festival Best Art Direction award twice, in 2002 and 2005. He began teaching production design at Columbia College in 2007 where he continues to this day. He has also taught two sessions for the FIT (Film Industry Training) Program in Michigan in 2009.
